The second Extreme H World Cup will not take place in 2026 due to the war in the Middle East. Originally planned for October 29–31, it will now be held at a to-be-named date in 2027.
“The decision has been taken as a result of logistical and operational challenges affecting the preparations required to deliver the event,” reads a statement from Extreme H.
“The FIA and Extreme H remain committed to working with their partners in Saudi Arabia to ensure the successful delivery of the second edition of the FIA Extreme H World Cup in 2027. Both parties thank their partners in Saudi Arabia for their continued cooperation and commitment to the event.”
Like the inaugural edition in 2025, 2026 was supposed to return to Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia. The country remains in a heightened state of crisis due to the war between Iran and the United States and Israel, while the Kingdom has also been targeted by the Houthis from the south.
On Sunday, the ASO announced the 2027 Dakar Rally would be moved from Saudi Arabia because of the conflict.
Jameel Motorsport won the first Extreme H World Cup.
