Three years after his last Dakar Rally, Juraj Varga plans to return in 2027. This time, it’ll be behind the wheel of a Polaris RZR Pro R.

Varga finished fourth in Quad at his Dakar debut in 2023, then improved to third in 2024. The latter ended up being the final Dakar for the class before being axed by the ASO, a call that drew much derision from Varga and his fellow riders to the point where he withdrew from the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal mid-race in protest.

Like most riders, he eventually made the switch to driving cars. He bought a Polaris RZR over the summer and was the “zero car” at the 2024 Hungarian Baja.

In 2025, he and navigator Radovan Schneider upped their program by competing in the Magyar Terep-Rallye and select amateur races like the Hellas Rally Raid and Baja Poland.

In November, he scored his first career win as an SSV driver at the Fenix Rally. Taking place in Tunisia, Fenix was also his maiden desert rally in the category.
