As its name suggests, the KTM 890 Adventure R Rally takes inspiration from the company’s rally raid side.

Described as being “developed from Dakar-winning DNA”, the R Rally features the same livery, Akrapovič Slip-on Line exhaust, foot pegs, and seat as on the KTM 450 Rally Factory. Reigning W2RC Rally2 champion Edgar Canet was also the rider for the bike’s photoshoot, meaning iconography like his #73 bib were present in the reveal shots.

The rally variant shares the 889cc parallel twin engine with the base 890 Adventure R. However, while both have 100 Nm of torque, the R Rally gets slightly more horsepower at 106 versus the original 105 hp.

Other elements like the suspension are also adapted from race bikes, unlike the regular Adventure R that was built on road-faring technology. The WP Pro Components suspension comes with XPLO PRO fork and shocks, the former with cone valve technology, for 270 millimeters of travel.

For electronics, the bike comes with Offroad ABS as well as Rally Mode ride setting and traction control, all of which is configured on a five-inch thin-film-transistor display.

Only a limited number will be produced.
