NORRA has loosened the new rules concerning Pro SXS, Pro SXS NA, and Pro SXS FI chassis.

For the 2026 season, UTVs in these categories must have a stock lower chassis that is connected to equally manufacturer-made suspension and steering pickup and pivot points. As all three class rules explicitly say, “production OEM lower chassis is required and must utilize OEM suspension and steering pick up points.”

Gas tanks and seats must also be OEM, as well as the wheelbase. Pro SXS Naturally Aspirated and Forced Induction also mandate the front fascia, hood, and front and rear fenders to come from the manufacturer.

In a bulletin posted Friday, the sanctioning body announced the lower chassis can be an aftermarket component as long as the suspension and steering pickup/pivot points are in the same locations as they would’ve been if the chassis was OEM.

As a result, those with non-OEM chassis must undergo an inspection that costs $500. The inspection must be reserved by appointment on April 30 before the Mexican 1000 begins.

This new caveat will only exist for 2026, meaning teams will have just the Mexican 1000 and NORRA 500 to take advantage of it before they must have OEM chassis (barring a rule extension).

Other rules updates in Friday’s bulletin was a reminder that Class 6100 trucks must have properly tagged engines or face being reassigned to the Unlimited Truck category.
