Rebecca Busi will make her Taklimakan Rally debut later this month as a factory driver for Great Wall Motor.

GWM is going all-in with its factory rally raid division for 2026. Besides Busi, the company has also recruited reigning Dakar Rally Challenger winner Pau Navarro, Dakar veteran Gerard Farrés, and twice reigning W2RC Challenger champ Nicolás Cavigliasso.

Busi finally gets her chance in a factory ride after a difficult few years. Despite finishing third in the 2024 W2RC SSV standings, her funding dried up at season’s end and has mostly kept her on the sidelines since. With few racing opportunities outside of races like the Italian Baja, she mainly spent 2025 working with sponsors.

In January, Busi returned to Dakar after a year away and finished 28th in Challenger for X-raid.

“This is an incredible opportunity and something I have been working and dreaming about for my entire career,” said Busi. “Representing such an important brand in the Chinese motorsport scene means a lot to me, and I’m ready to give my best in this new adventure.”

Great Wall Motor revived its rally arm in 2025. While the current fleet is intended for competition in the T2 class, GWM is keen on expanding into T1 competition with plans of racing Dakar in the future.
