SCORE International will retire #712X in honor of Eddie Meek, a favorite in the desert racing community and Pro Moto Ironman rider who passed away in May.

Meek had competed in SCORE since 2017, finishing as high as second in class at the 2023 Baja 1000. After being on a team for the 2025 1000, he planned to race solo again at this year’s edition in November.

The British rider boasted experience in several premier sand races like the Weston Beach Race and Enduropale du Touquet, as well as the Finke Desert Race.

In the wake of his passing, his friends Stephen Graham and Luke Davis are attempting the National Three Peaks Challenge, which consists of climbing the three tallest mountains in the UK in one go. Meek had achieved the challenge before and was supposed to try it again alongside them before he died. Had it gone through, Meek’s effort would have raised funds for the British Heart Foundation since he had undergone quadruple heart bypass surgery in the past.

On the other hand, #592X will remain available following Jason Hogan’s death at last week’s Baja 500. Hogan was not the number’s rider of record, meaning whether it continues to be used is up to RoR Chris Hammond.

“It is possible that the team may wish to keep racing under that number to honor him,” SCORE bike liaison Andy Kirker explained.
