Tomasz Białkowski made history in January when he and the DAF Bull won Stage 3 of the Dakar Classic, becoming the first truck to claim any stage outright in Dakar history, then finished an impressive ninth overall.

While he’s back in his usual Polaris RZR for the FIA World Baja Cup, he and Kamena Rally Team are returning to the Bull for the 2027 Classic. Dariusz Baśkiewicz will be his navigator as usual, though Łukasz Gogulski will be the mechanic. Adam Grodzki filled the latter role in 2026.

Gogulski previously shared driving duties with Białkowski at the 2024 Baja 1000, which included doing a 100-mile stint alongside Baśkiewicz to let him rest. The team finished tenth in Pro UTV Forced Induction.

In 2023, Gogulski co-starred alongside Maciej Krakowian in a short documentary called Double Race that followed their efforts to organize a competition between Gogulski’s McLaren 765LT and Krakowian’s F-16 Fighting Falcon. Krakowian was the leader of the Polish Air Force’s F-16 Tiger Demo Team and a close friend of Kamena Rally Team, helping them unveil the Bull program shortly before his deadly plane crash last August. Kamena honored the major by having a tribute sticker on the truck for Dakar.

“We’ve already had an adventure together. We did the Baja 1000 in Mexico so we’ve already proven ourselves in battle a bit,” Gogulski told Patryk Mikichiuk. “I hope that we can manage a nice result this time at Dakar.”

Białkowski’s ninth in January was the best finish for any truck in the Dakar Classic’s history. For reference, the best truck in the 2025 Classic finished 34th.

Three races into the World Baja Cup season with the RZR, he sits fourth in SSV points and 13th overall. The 2024 European Baja Cup SSV champ hopes the rest of the season will improve from his most recent start when he rolled on the final day at Baja Greece.

The Bull is a DAF 3300 that Jan de Rooy raced in the 1985 Paris–Dakar Rally. DAF de Rooy Classics, who owns the truck, plans to field more of them in 2027.
