While Crandon International Raceway is the mecca of short course, it’s also been a welcome stop for Ultra4 USA since 2018. That relationship went a step further on Friday when both parties announced a three-year contract extension that includes Crandon becoming a full-fledged national points round in 2027 and 2028.
“Ultra4 USA is excited to strengthen our relationship with Crandon and bring our competitors to one of the most iconic venues in motorsports,” series commissioner John Goodby stated. “This is the second largest event for Ultra4 USA outside of King of the Hammers. Crandon’s legendary racing heritage, the upgraded Crandonland course, live RACER Network television coverage, and the energy surrounding the Polaris Crandon World Championship create an unparalleled experience for all our competitors.”
Ultra4 competes on a special “Ultracross” course located adjacent to the short course raceway in the Crandon Off-Road Park. This layout will now include a tabletop jump built by track head Cliff Flannery and a large rock-and-dirt climb section in front of the spectator section, which are set to debut on Labor Day weekend.
The Ultra4 races are held in conjunction with the Crandon World Championship Races and Red Bull Crandon World Cup.
“Crandon has represented the pinnacle of off-road racing since 1970, and we have proudly showcasing Ultra4 racers for years,” track president Jason Flannery offered. “Partnering with Ultra4 USA for the next three seasons allows us to build an even bigger stage for off-road racing’s most versatile vehicles. In fact, we have already started construction on epic improvements to our Crandonland Ultracross course for this year’s Polaris Crandon World Championship weekend.”
