What was supposed to be his chance to repeat as Pro 2 champ instead became a frustrating campaign for Keegan Kincaid. The 2026 Championship Off-Road season began on a solid note with a runner-up Saturday finish in Wheatland, then was all downhill ever since as severe engine failures nearly caused him to miss the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run then forced him to skip ERX entirely.

Even with the engine working again thanks to Ron Sharp’s efforts, he had a lot of ground to make up going into Dirt City Motorplex. He was a distant sixth in Pro 2 points as everyone in front of him had entered each of the first four rounds. A comeback isn’t impossible, but he faces an uphill battle with three weekends to go.

Whether the rally succeeds is another story, but winning Sunday at the Dirt City Off-Road National is a good start. After a disappointing seventh on Saturday, Kincaid enjoyed a return to form. He followed Saturday winner Cory Winner early on, sitting second when the caution was flown to flip a tractor tire off the track.

As the race resumed, Kincaid immediately put the pressure on before passing him in the hairpin. Ricky Gutierrez spun in the same corner and caused a stack-up among the back half of the field, giving Kincaid and Winner an arena to duel. Kincaid held him off for the rest of the stretch and on the ensuing restart.

John Holtger caught up to Winner and passed him for second before chasing down Kincaid, but was unable to overtake him for the lead.

“Yesterday was a rough one. It took me a little bit to get back into it,” said Kincaid on Sunday. “It’s been a rough year. I mean, we’ve been consistent early. We were in the points hunt and stuff and we were there and then something like that happens.”

While Kincaid has his work cut out for him in the Pro 2 battle, the Pro 4 points lead went back and forth over the weekend. Jimmy Henderson won the Saturday race to take the lead from CJ Greaves, only for Greaves to reclaim it by winning on Sunday.

Henderson had been battling with Mickey Thomas before a tire went down, ending his day. Thomas was then taken out of contention by steering problems.

The other Pro truck classes had an eventful weekend too. Pro Lite points leader Connor Barry dominated his category’s race on Saturday before stalling under caution, leading to Joey Maciosek taking the win; Maciosek was then hampered by rear end issues on Sunday that prevented him from sweeping the slate.

Pro SPEC was a wild affair that culminated in Nick Visser holding off Chris Van Den Elzen and Wyatt Miller in a one-lap sprint on Sunday. Dylan Parsons enjoyed a runner-up to Avery Hemmer, the sixth different Pro SPEC winner in 2026, before running over a chunk of concrete on the parade lap on Sunday that punctured a front tire’s sidewall.

“It was hard to tell we had a flat until we got into Turn 1. With the mass carnage and nowhere to go, we got hit from behind and ended up getting collected in the massive pileup,” Parsons explained. “Definitely tricky conditions, and we wish we could have had a better track to race on, but that’s the hand we were dealt.”
