After racing MM Technology trucks for the past three years, Mitchel van den Brink has partnered with Team de Rooy once again. Eurol Rally Sport announced its 2027 Dakar Rally program during its sponsor day in Oude Essenerweg on Saturday, which consists of Mitchel racing a de Rooy truck once again while his father Martin continues with MM Technology in the new EVO5.

They will run the Rallye du Maroc later in September as a dry run before Dakar next January.

“We are starting as the lead driver of Team de Rooy,” said Mitchel. “We are very happy with this opportunity because we are directly involved in the development of the new IVECO truck. The de Rooy team has the best people on hand.

“Team owner Gerard de Rooy is willing to invest in the technology of the new truck. A lot of hard work has gone into building an even better new truck. We are very happy with that.”

The younger de Rooy previously drove de Rooy trucks at the 2022 and 2023 Dakar Rallies, finishing fourth in class at the latter. Starting in 2024, his trucks were built by MM Technology instead, including the then-new EVO4 at the 2026 race that placed third. Martin was sixth in his son’s 2025 Dakar truck.

De Rooy is fielding IVECOs in the Dakar Rally and several Tatras in the Dakar Classic. He described the new deal with the van den Brinks as “bringing Eurol’s technical knowledge and products in-house.”
