When Aaron Rodgers bought Mavericks for his offensive linemen last Christmas, we joked that “UTVs are all the rage these days, apparently even among NFL players.” As it turns out, this seems to extend to North American stick-and-ball sports in general.

For one, Tennessee Titans player Cedric Gray ended up in concussion protocol a week before the season opener after wrecking his UTV. Okay, that’s probably not a good example.

CFMOTO is now the official UTV of the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves, while Can-Am now holds a similar role with the Montreal Canadiens thanks to a broader partnership via BRP Inc. The former was announced in August at CFMOTO USA’s annual dealer show, while the latter was revealed on Tuesday.

While CFMOTO is a Chinese manufacturer, its American branch is based in Plymouth, Minnesota. The Vikings had previously maintained a similar partnership with Polaris, who is also headquartered in the state. As part of the new deal, the Polaris Gate located in the northwest of U.S. Bank Stadium—leading to sections 301 to 307—has been renamed the CFMOTO Gate.

The Timberwolves had previously been sponsored by CFMOTO USA from 2017 to 2019, which included appearances on the courtside TV signage.

As for the Habs, BRP will “permanently display” Can-Am and Ski-Doo vehicles at the Bell Centre. The company will also sponsor the Canadiens’ various community and charity programs like the annual golf tournament later in September. Those competing in the tournament can participate in a silent auction to win either a BRP Experiences trip or a a Can-Am Outlander, while a Canadiens-themed Defender will be used as a refreshment cart.
