Rémy Moreau is set for his Dakar Rally debut in 2026, finally fulfilling something he has wanted to do since he was little.
In a post he made Friday after receiving his acceptance letter from the ASO, Moreau wrote:
A childhood dream… come true.
I’m taking part in the Dakar: this extraordinary adventure, the challenge of a lifetime. I’ll do it in the spirit of sharing through sport, because effort, passion, and solidarity are more powerful together.
THANK YOU to all those who have supported me so far: Family, friends, partners, patrons, coaches, volunteers… Without you, none of this would be possible. You are part of this journey.
There’s still a lot to do, but one thing is certain: I will ride every kilometer thinking of all of you.
Moreau began his Dakar quest at the 2023 Rallye du Maroc, where he finished 61st in Rally2 and 36th for the Road to Dakar. The following year, he went to Portugal to compete in the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid, finishing 21st in class.
He has not run a World Rally-Raid Championship race so far in 2025 and it’s not required now that his Dakar ticket is confirmed, though the Rallye du Maroc is a possibility for a dress rehearsal. Nevertheless, the Frenchman remained involved with rally raids to continue bolstering his credentials for acceptance.
In April, Moreau competed in the Carta Rallye and finished 12th overall for the 450cc class. While not part of the W2RC, being a week-long desert rally yields four points in the Road to Dakar.
Outside of rallies, he mainly competes in enduro events.
