Flyer 22 has been a Mint 400 class winner every year since 2020. Team Beefy hopes to end that streak in 2026.
Both vehicles are fielded annually by Warfighter Made, a nonprofit that supports veterans transitioning back to civilian life through programs like off-road racing.
Flyer 22, a Chenowth Light Strike Vehicle, won the inaugural Military Class in 2020 before moving to the more specific Vintage Military category a year later, where it’s dominated since.
For 2026, Flyer 22 will be piloted by Warfighter Made head Robert Blanton and Danny Novoa. Marine veterans Jesli Bowling, Dominic Lopez, and special guest Ryan Frisby will share co-driving duties.
Rob and Danny will each be in the machine for a lap, while Marine vet Jesli Bowling, Marine vet Dominic Lopez, and special guest Ryan Frisby.
Beefy is a 1993 AM General Humvee M998. Joseph Contreras, who has served in both the Army and Marines, will share driving responsibilities with ex-soldier Josh McCool. Army veteran Jeffrey Magana, Marine Amanda Kimbro, and Vietnam-era Navy sailor Dwight Rockers are also involved.
The two teams are the lone Vintage Military entries for Friday’s Limited Race.
Warfighter Made is also prepping a Can-Am Maverick for Timothy Hall to run in the Limited Race in UTV Pro Turbo. For Saturday’s Motorcycle Race, WM is overseeing a KTM bike ridden by the trio of Alexa Barth, Dan Stoner, and Jesse Williamson; Mitch Melott, who raced the bike in 2025, will take part on a Yamaha quad.
In 2025, the team fielded three entries with the pair of Vintage Military teams and the bike. Flyer 22 beat Beefy by four minutes in that year’s Limited Race, while the bike finished tenth in Over 30 Sportsman.
