During January’s Dakar Rally, X-raid’s four MAN TGE service vans used a special conversion kit to ensure they would survive the Saudi terrain. Two months later, the team and partner delta4×4 have officially released the MAN TGE Cross-Country Kit to the public.

“These targeted modifications provide a significant improvement in handling,” said X-raid boss Sven Quandt. “On deep sand, the special Loder tires offer improved grip and outstanding traction. At the same time, the MAN TGE benefits enormously from the larger rims on paved roads. The unpleasant ‘tire squirm’ (sidewall flex) during cornering is reduced, which noticeably increases driving stability on the road.”

While X-raid competes in the main Rally, delta4×4 fields the Puch 280GE in the Dakar Classic. A fellow German entity, delta4×4 outside of racing produces off-road tuning and accessories like lift kits, tires and wheels, and fender flares.

The Cross-Country Kit offers a 40-millimeter lift on the front and rear axles, special fender flares, a large front bull bar with PIAA Rally auxiliary lights, and a rear ladder for easy acces to the roof and as a quasi-spare wheel carrier. The vans also operate on 18-inch Klassik_B Rugged aluminum wheels fitted with Loder AT all-terrain tires.

Each of these parts are sold separately. The rear ladder is the pricest at €2,595 followed by the suspension lift kit (€1,666), the rims (€715), and front bull bar (€595).
