NORRA’s Baja 10 Day Rally garnered much enthusiasm when it was revealed in February, but also skepticism as some feared they could not afford to complete the full trip down Baja California and back. Worry not, for NORRA announced Friday that competitors can run the race in one of three ways.

The first is obviously to do the full route from Ensenada to San José del Cabo and back. Racing here starts on April 25 and finishes on May 6.

The six-day format used by the Mexican 1000 will also be available, consisting of a single peninsula run from Ensenada to Cabo. Once down at the tip of Baja California Sur, teams will be able to participate in the mid-race celebration on the May 1–2 rest day and get their trophies before going home.

If neither of those work, the second half of the race going from Cabo up to Ensenada is an option as well. Those who wish to do this can sign up during the rest day and go through inspection then before joining the race for the final four days.

“We’ve had a lot of racers and teams contacting us asking if the six-day format would still exist, and if there would be options for competitors that may not be able to commit to the full ten days,” NORRA director Eliseo Garcia explained. “After discussing it with Robby Gordon, we agreed that if racers are asking for these options, then we should make them available.”

Despite worries on if they’d return after May’s Mexican 1000, NORRA also confirmed bikes will take part on the same general route as cars and trucks.

The Baja 10 Day Rally was created to celebrate NORRA’s 60th anniversary in 2027.

“This isn’t just another race,” stated Garcia. “This is a celebration of 60 years of NORRA history, Baja culture, and endurance racing. We wanted to create something worthy of the milestone, something racers will remember for the rest of their lives.”
