Karel Poslední is teaming up with MM Technology, moving over from Buggyra ZM Racing. He will the new MM EVO 5 truck for the first time at the Baja Aragón later in July, his debut before setting course for the 2027 Dakar Rally.

Officially, Poslední is considered an “independent client driver” rather than a full-fledged driver for MM. He’ll race under his own team called Valtorro Unlimited.

Poslední was a longtime partner of Buggyra, having supported the team at the 2020 Dakar Rally via his company Valtorro Group four years before getting his own shot in their trucks. After finish fourth in Truck at that year’s Morocco rally, he made his Dakar debut in 2025 and placed 11th in class.

MM Technology tested the EVO 5 in Tunisia from May 23 to June 3. Team boss Martin Macík Jr. was joined by Poslední and his old Buggyra colleague Martin Šoltys, Richard de Groot of Firemen Dakarteam, Michal Valtr who raced for his own team, and František Brutovský of MING Racing. It was MM’s largest summer test in Africa.

“Change is a part of life, and right now I want to push myself further,” Poslední explained. “For me, MM Technology is currently the absolute best out there; Martin won the Dakar with it, so the choice was clear. Plus, it’s a Czech team and a great bunch of people. I’m really enjoying being directly involved in the development, trying out different setups, and driving the truck even before my own brand-new baby is finished. The guys have promised us all-inclusive support, so I have nothing but positive impressions from both the testing and the team’s overall approach.”

In January’s Dakar, Poslední finished 18th in Truck in the Tatra Buggyra Evo3. MM had six EVO 4s in the race, with Mitchel van den Brink finishing the highest in third ahead of Macík.

“We are immensely proud of this collaboration,” Macík offered. “Karel is a true racer at heart, who fits our philosophy perfectly. The fact that he chose MM Technology’s engineering and support for his next step on the Dakar means a lot to us. It shows that our work makes sense. We will do everything we can to prepare the best possible truck and setup for him for the upcoming races, including the Dakar.”
