Through the Dust, the first project by Chris Hemsworth’s Wild State studio about the Finke Desert Race, released on Friday. It is a 30-minute documentary following his friend and X Games medalist Robbie Maddison in his Finke driving debut.

Hemsworth, one of the most popular actors in the business today, and his company partnered with Finke in May. As part of the deal, Wild State will produce several unscripted works and particularly a feature film.

Maddison, mainly a Moto X rider, shared an Extreme 2WD truck with Jake Williams. The duo went on to finish third in class and seventh overall in June’s 50th anniversary race.

The documentary was directed by JP Stiles. Hemsworth coproduced it alongside Wild State co-founder Benjamin Grayson, Kevin Joseph, and Andy Mininger.

“There’s a wild race through the middle of the Australian desert called Finke,” started Hemsworth in the opening narration. “My mate Robbie Maddison decided to take it on in a Trophy Truck, sharing the driving with Jake Williams. It is one hell of a ride and I hope you all enjoy it.”
