The World Baja Cups are getting a shake-up in 2027. The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council confirmed the three series’ new schedules on Monday.
The World Baja Cup’s 2027 calendar is identical to 2026’s in terms of races and slots, with the only changes being their dates. Most notable is that the Baja Aragón will stay in September; Aragón was traditionally held in July, but wildfires pushed the race back by two months.
A similar circumstance befell the Hungarian Baja, which was moved from September to November because of climate issues in the region. It’ll stay in November as the final race of the 2027 European Baja Cup.
The Jordan Baja is now in April rather than February, while the Baja Portalegre 500 and Qatar International have been moved back a month from their current October spots.
Conversely, the European and Middle East Cups each have a new date. The Sardinia Rally Raid joins the former after auditioning for a World Rally-Raid Championship date in May, while the Oman International Baja has been promoted to a full date in the latter. The inaugural OIB will be held on December 17–19, originally planned to be a candidate race for the MEBC in March before the war in the region escalated.
