Truck Team Müller had to call off its Africa Eco Race debut after an accident a month before the start. With everyone fully recovered and development on the truck once again underway, the team will finally take the start in 2026.
The Dutch team was supposed to run the 2025 race, which would have been its second time competing in a desert rally after competing at the 2024 Carta Rallye. However, while testing in November, the truck flipped at an industrial park in Heerenveen. All three team members were taken to the hospital and subsequently discharged.
However, the damage to the DAF CF was substantial. Further compounding issues was that the accident happened just a week after spending three months building the engine. Thus, the team had no choice but to cancel its entry for 2025.
Although unable to take part, the team still attended the race as observers to get a feel for the atmosphere.
Truck Team Müller typically competes in European rallies like Rallye Breslau in Poland, where Martin Roeterdink drove the DAF to a seventh in the Cross-Country Truck Big class in the latest edition. Four months prior, the team finished third in class at the Carta Rallye in Morocco with Jeroen Müller as driver.
The 2026 Africa Eco Race will run from January 24 to February 7.
