You know that trope where the protagonist is joined by all the friends and comrades they made throughout their journey for the climactic battle against the main antagonist, including the help of a former enemy? That’s basically what RZR Factory Racing has planned for the Baja 1000.

The team’s orange Polaris RZR has served as their “tryout” car in 2025, with a rotation of drivers piloting it at each event to gauge their capabilities before possibly signing them full time for 2026. In a shock defection from rival Can-Am, Joe Terrana will drive the orange #1831 at the 1000 alongside J.D. Marsh.

As a Can-Am driver, Terrana won his class at the Mint 400 in 2023 and 2024 as well as the 2023 California 300. He initially three-peated at the Mint in March by topping UTV Pro until his Maverick R was disqualified for being too wide, a quirk of the UTV that UNLTD eventually corrected though the DSQ still stood.

The orange RZR had been driven by seven-time Baja 1000 bike winner Justin Morgan for much of the SCORE season. For this year’s race, however, he’s moved over to the yellow #1896 which he’ll share with defending UTV victor Brock Heger. Heger originally thought of doing the race by himself, but has since said “maybe next year” on that plan.

Cayden MacCachren will share his purple #1821 with Ethan Groom, who drove the orange car at the Mint 400 and Vegas to Reno. Groom had split the orange RZR at the latter with Seth Quintero.

The blue #1841 RZR of Max Eddy Jr. will also have Dylan Schmoke in the driver’s seat at times. Schmoke was the orange car’s first driver of 2025 at King of the Hammers.
