Paul Weel and Rob MacCachren are joining forces for the rest of the 2026 SCORE season. The joint effort will use MacCachren’s #11 and compete under the Paul Weel Motorsport name, distancing themselves from the disgraced #46 Team Australia identity.

MacCachren replaces Toby Price, who’s taken a hiatus from desert racing after his San Felipe 250 disqualification. Weel, who wasn’t involved with the circumstances that led to the penalty, promised an internal investigation that culminated in co-driver Brent Bauman also resigning.

Weel announced the new partnership on Tuesday. He also recently acquired the new AWD second-generation Trophy Truck from Mason Motorsports, which the duo will run at the Baja 500 onward.

In San Felipe, MacCachren won the Trophy Truck 2WD class in his #11T. He usually teams up with Luke McMillin for the Baja 1000; the duo’s #83 finished runner-up in last year’s race, while MacCachren also did a stint in his own #11 after getting out of the McMillin truck.

“I have been doing this for a very long time and I honestly do not think I have ever felt this level of excitement,” said MacCachren. “Paul has built something very special here and I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of the Gen 2. I am grateful for this opportunity and I am ready to go to work.”

Paul Weel Motorsport is similar to the name that the team’s namesake used when he raced in V8 Supercars in the 2000s.

While MacCachren isn’t Australian, he is a Stadium Super Trucks alumnus like Weel and Price.

“We are set to line up together at the Baja 500 in June and preparations are well underway,” Weel added. “To all our partners who have stood by us through this challenging time, thank you. We appreciate it and are looking forward to getting back to business.”
