With the Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrating Dakar machinery of past and present, Ford Racing was naturally going to bring its Raptor T1+.

It will be among a convoy of Fords heading to Goodwood that the manufacturer calls “the best one yet”.

Others taking part include the Super Mustang Mach-E that won Pikes Peak in June and its predecessor SuperVan 4.0; the Focus, Escort Mk. I, and Puma Rally1 that race in WRC; the GT Mk. IV and Mustang GTD from sports car racing; and Triple Eight Engineering’s Mustang that races in Supercars.

It’ll be another return for the Raptor, which was unveiled for the first time with Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Festival of Speed. The car also appeared at the 2025 edition. Since then, the Raptor has become a fairly popular T1+ car for those with Ford backing.

Besides the factory team of Sainz, Mattias Ekström, Mitch Guthrie, and Nani Roma, client privateers also race it like Martin Prokop and more recently Energylandia Rally Team. Pikes Peak winner Romain Dumas is a works driver for Ford, but also runs his own team that fields a Raptor for Kees Koolen.

Ford’s rival Toyota Gazoo Racing will also be at Goodwood on July 9–12 with its Hilux. Other rally raiders attending as part of Goodwood’s emphasis on the discipline include João Monteiro, Gazelles Offroad Team205 Africa Raid, and Defender Rally.
